Rocks in my bowl!!!
Mom and Dad have really gone looney. They put a bunch of rocks in my bowl. Mom got the idea from someone with a beagle. They had put golf balls in his bowl so he slow down and chew his food. Mom and dad figured I'd eat golf balls. (I would) We'll find out tomorrow morning if it works.

Re: Rocks in my bowl!!!
They're too big to eat, not that I tried. I like to lick them when the food is gone. They make it harder to eat my food. I chew my food now. Since mom put me on a diet I can really suck up my food. Mom puts it in my bowl, I suck it down and let out a big burb. I guess mom wants me to chew my food. It doesn't really matter to me. "Just get in my belly!"

Re: Rocks in my bowl!!!
Sounds like your mom is making stone soup for you, just like the little kids book!
We got this ball for Max to help him eat slower:

Re: Rocks in my bowl!!!
Balls equal die, death, must kill. Rocks haven't come to mean anything to Checkers...yet. So far he hasn't taken any of them out of the bowl. I think he likes all the noise they make when he's checking his bowl. It's much more dramatic now when he's reminding us it's empty.

Re: Rocks in my bowl!!!
I love to eat more than anything, so I can understand eating it so fast that no one else gets a bite in edgewise. I'm sure not looking forward to any rocks in my bowl, though! Might be kinda hard on the teeth.

Re: Rocks in my bowl!!!
Has anyone seen the food bowls that have "posts" in them so the dog has to work at getting the food. We looked in Petco the other night, they didn't have them. I'll have to try PetSmart. I saw them on tv and I don't remember if it was a store advertising or an infomercial. Of course with Checkers' nose they probably wouldn't slow him down. It's like a vacuum attachment.
