There was a lot of damage around Kansas City and Mom had to dodge down power lines and tree limbs to get to work. We only lost one little limb. I thought it was very scary so I got lots of lap time while the thunder and lightening seemed to hug our house....it sounded like bombs or something!! We weren't on the computer much last night, mom has a cold and it makes her very tired. We just saw your beautiful tribute to Sophie!! Me and Mom know exactly how you feel.....Daisy was only 9-Mom thought she looked like she was staining to potty and took her to the vet thinking it was a UTI.....it was bladder cancer. They tried surgery but the tumor was to big. In just a few short days we had to let our beautiful, happy girl go. She was one of the really special ones like your Sophie! We hope you have a fun day....we're driving Mom crazy-playing 'the in and out game'......just as she gets busy, we want back out!!! We were worried, because you got off the computer because of bad storms. When we didn't see you on TC or here, we started to worry that the storms may have damaged your house or something. We were so glad when we you posted on TC--it made our day. It sounds like the storm was really bad. We can only imagine how afraid you must have been--it is nice to have a mommy to cuddle with and keep you safe. Storms are headed our way, but I don't think they will be as bad as what you experienced, thank goodness. We are sorry that your Mommy isn't feeling well. The best thing that you can do when you are not feeling well, is to rest. We just took a little snooze ourselves. That is so sad to hear about Daisy. I know just how much you miss her. Just by you telling me about her, she sounds so very special and was an honor to have in your life. I love the name Daisy, and always consider it for one of my girls names. I will probably use that name someday and I'll think of your little Daisy when I do. I don't know why, but I have missed Sophie so much this year. I have been going through some stressful situations lately, so that may be the reason. Last year I also went out of town on purpose on this day--so that my mind would not be focused on it. But thank you for your kind words; they were much appreciated. Us three little girls have been doing the going in and out game today. Those squirrels have just been teasing us all day long. My stress level has been over the top lately but I know there are good things coming soon for all of us! I am glad some good things are coming your way. Our pups do so much to bring about a calmer more peaceful life. I know if it is a particularly tough day at work, it is a joy to come in the door and see them waiting to greet me. It takes all of the problems of the day away. They say that having a pet can help to bring down your blood pressure. I believe it, because I can just feel myself relaxing sometimes. My girls will agree to just hang out and chase those pesky little squirrels away. That is one of their favorite things to do. We hope all of you have a wonderful day chasing those squirrels! It was almost 70 so the neighbor kids were out to bark at and the squirrels and all the dogs to run up and down the fence with!! Are we tired tonight! We are glad you had a really good sunny day and lots of fun. I imagine you are really tired and will sleep good tonight. It will probably be some really good sleep. Belle, Treasure, and Olivia are sleeping now. Those squirrels have been keeping them really busy. I went out for a while and tried to help them get a couple of squirrels. Of course, they are better squirrel chasers than I am. They enjoyed me helping them, though. Our weather was awesome today--just like yours. It is supposed to remain like this the rest of the week. We hope you have an awesome day tomorrow. My girls are already sad as it is a work day tomorrow. That means inside all day until I get home. I really miss them while I am at work, but no work means no food or treats. I know you miss your Mommy also. All of you have a really good night! My mom works all day too. We are let out a couple of times by friends of mom-if they can't do it, mom comes home at lunch. She only works five minutes away. She says she can't keep her legs crossed for 8 hours, so she tries not to make us. We still miss her and greet her like she's been gone for a month!! She says we make life worth living? We had bunnies to chase today, can you believe they come in our yard?? We could smell the ground squirrels-chipmunks, too, we sure do like spring!! Mom's got to back to work for a meeting tonight, so I'd better go get some scratches!! Hope you've had a great day!! Penny....and mom, Cora westiegirl3 May 05 at 18:46 Re: Penny--We are worried about you My son-in-law actually lets my girls out early afternoon on most days that I have to work. He goes in at 3:30 am so he gets off pretty early. I am home two days during the week, and let his dogs out on those days. It works out pretty good. I would love to come home at lunch, but I work atleast an hour away. My girls would just love to have bunnies come into the yard. There are some down the street, but they are not brave enough to come into our yard. The weather is beautiful, so the girls have all been out running and chasing the squirrels since I have come home. When I first get home, they will go out for a minute, because I make them. They then want in for all of their loving. They just HAVE to come in and will stand at the door until I let them in. I will play with them for a few minutes and then back out they go. Yes, my girls make it all worth while and I know your little babies do too. We are so blessed to have our little pups and I often thank God for them. I hope your meeting goes well tonight. I am so thankful that I don't have to go back for meetings. When I leave work, I am gone for the day (atleast at this job) All of you take care of yourselves. It is soooo good to talk to you!!!! Whenever Mom gets home we immediately go out and potty-even when she's only gone 10 minutes! Then we come in for our loves, scratches and pets!!
